THE silly burghers of Southampton are whining that upgrading the Pier Head liner terminal to a start and finish cruise base would be unfair competition.They say the original grant to Liverpool was only for port of call status.
Grow up: competition is good for business. And there are millions who don''t wish to trail down to Hampshire on clogged motorways or in outrageously priced crowded trains before setting sail, and those who would rather arrive in a vibrant city than adjacent to an old stone monument and some slithering forest snakes.
