THE TURNER CORPORATION COMPLETES SALE OF ITS BFW CONSTRUCTION SUBSIDIARY

 NEW YORK, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Turner Corporation (AMEX: TUR), the nation's leading general builder, today announced completion of the sale of BFW Construction Co., Inc., its wholly owned Texas-based construction subsidiary. The company was sold to an employee group led by BFW's senior executives. The closing took place on July 27, 1993.
 Turner's Chairman, Alfred T. McNeill, commented, "We are delighted to have completed this transaction. It accomplishes our strategic objective to focus the delivery of construction services in the Texas marketplace through the existing Turner Construction offices in Dallas and Houston."
 Franklin Kohutek, president of BFW and a member of the purchasing group stated, "The sale allows Turner and BFW to continue a close relationship while enabling each company to pursue its long-range goals."
 Based in Temple, Texas, BFW, which was acquired by Turner in 1978, currently serves the Texas general contracting market with a primary focus on the construction of healthcare, educational and municipal projects.
