THE TRUST COMPANY OF WASHINGTON: FORMER REGIONAL BANKING EXECUTIVES LAUNCH NEW PUGET SOUND-AREA TRUST COMPANY

 BELLEVUE, Wash., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Bill Sperber, managing director of Washington's newest independent trust company, The Trust Company of Washington, announced today that the firm successfully completed its initial public offering in a record 43 days in December. The Trust Company of Washington received its charter from the Washington State Banking Division on Jan. 6 and will open its Bellevue and Tacoma offices on Wednesday, Feb. 10, with a Seattle office site to be announced in the near future.
 The Trust Company of Washington's Bellevue office will be located temporarily at 400 108th Ave., Suite 204, 206-637-1856, and in Tacoma at 2050 First Interstate Plaza, 1201 Pacific Ave., 206-627-6547.
 Chairman David Ellison reported, "The shake-up of out-of-state mergers among Washington banks has had a huge impact on the local trust business and its role at the surviving banks. There is now a significant opportunity for The Trust Company of Washington to provide highly experienced and trusted local advisors that can guide individuals and families in making critical decisions and plans for their family's financial and life-planning issues."
 The Trust Company of Washington is being launched by a number of successful trust and banking executives from the Puget Sound area. In addition to Chairman Ellison, former manager of Seafirst Bank's Trust and Investment Division and later president of Laird Norton Trust Co., the group includes Organizing Director Robert Buck, of counsel with Foster Pepper Shefelman and a former general counsel of Rainier National Bank; Managing Director William Sperber, a senior executive with Seafirst Bank and Rainier National Bank, and a former banking partner with an international public accounting firm; Organizing Director Michael Frankfurter, a retired partner of Deloitte & Touche, where he served as national director of banking services; Director of Operations John Selle, a 30-year trust industry executive formerly with Rainier National Bank and Security Pacific Washington; Michael Vranizan, a 23-year veteran vice president of Bank of California's Trust Department; Douglas O'Connor, a former Seafirst Vice President with 10 years in its Trust Department; John Baker, a 23-year trust veteran and former Puget Sound Bank vice president for over 10 years; Raelene Jeffery, a 14-year trust investment vice president with Bank of California for 14 years; and Jana Wilkins, a 12-year trust veteran, also from Bank of California.
