 THE SIERRA NETWORK(TM) MAKES ON-LINE FUN AFFORDABLE
 FOR FAMILIES WITH NATIONWIDE FLAT RATE PRICING
 $12.95 Monthly Flat Rate Debuts June 1, 1992;
 Multi-Player Games, Chat and Other Popular Services Included
 OAKHURST, Calif., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sierra Network (TSN) today announced a new nationwide flat rate subscription of $12.95 per month that should dramatically increase membership on the network. By including popular games and activities in the basic monthly rate, TSN members will receive more entertainment value than any other on-line service. TSN is a revolutionary entertainment community that brings together people with IBM compatible computers for live, interactive fun and games.
 TSN's flat rate pricing opens up a unique world of affordable fun and competition. The basic subscription lets members play TSN's "Constant Companion"(R) board and card games -- such as chess, checkers, bridge, cribbage and more -- with other people on the network for up to 30 hours per month during evenings and weekends. These games are fully interactive; members compete with real people in real time, just like a face-to-face game. Options for additional TSN play time over the initial 30 hours and weekday use are also available.
 TSN is more than just fun and games. The flat rate lets members chat, conduct multi-person conferences, participate in tournaments, receive electronic mail and use electronic bulletin boards with topics ranging from politics to poetry.
 Ken Williams, Sierra's president, commented, "No other service I am aware of offers true multi-player games or conversation as part of their flat rate offerings. I shudder to think what 30 hours of social interaction might cost on any of these services. This represents a major breakthrough in pricing and a major win for consumers. I'm very proud of the technology breakthroughs our development people have made to make TSN affordable for everyone.
 "TSN's unique interactivity creates a special sense of community and sharing not found on other on-line networks," continued Williams. "TSN is a place where people go to play, make new friends, gossip, discuss current affairs, exchange recipes ... all the things real neighbors do as part of their everyday lives. The combination of multi-player games and social interaction puts TSN in a class by itself."
 The new flat rate pricing is an integral part of TSN's plans for continued growth. "The flat rate provides incredible 'bang for the buck'," said Philip J. Monego Sr., TSN's general manager. "We extensively test marketed flat rate pricing in California, and consumer response has been overwhelmingly positive. Our research indicates that our current and potential members find the value provided under the flat rate price to be just what the market has been waiting for. TSN is much less expensive that other forms of family entertainment, such as cable television, a visit to the local amusement park, or even a trip to the movies."
 TSN is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sierra On-Line (NASDAQ: SIER), a leading developer and publisher of home computer entertainment. The network, along with Sierra On-Line's family of entertainment products, will be demonstrated at the Consumer Electronics Show (Chicago) in Software Publishers' Association booth No. 6932, North Hall, McCormick Place, May 28-31.
