THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will have the effect of imposing a 50mph and a 30mph speed restriction on the following lengths of road: 50mph Speed Restriction: 1. That length of the M73 Maryville - Mollinsburn Trunk Road being the southbound carriageway from the point at which the on-slip road from the A8 Baillieston Roundabout meets the carriageway at Junction 2 (Baillieston) to the point at which the off -slip road to the southbound M74/A74(M) leaves the carriageway at Junction 1 (Maryville), a distance of 1.2 kilometres or thereby.

2. That length of the M74/A74(M) Glasgow - Carlisle Trunk Road being the northbound carriageway from the point at which the on-slip road from the A72 meets the carriageway at Junction 7 (Larkhall) to the point at which the off- slip road to the M73 leaves the carriageway at Junction 4 (Maryville), a distance of 11.0 kilometres or thereby.

3. That length of the M74/A74(M) Glasgow - Carlisle Trunk Road being the southbound carriageway from the point at which the on-slip road from M73 meets the carriageway at Junction 4 (Maryville) to the point at which the off-slip road to the A72 leaves the carriageway at Junction 7 (Larkhall), a distance of 11.0 kilometres or thereby.

4. That length of the M73 Maryville - Mollinsburn Trunk Road being the off-slip road to the southbound M74/A74(M) Glasgow - Carlisle Trunk Road at Junction 1 (Maryville (M74)), a distance of 1.2 kilometres or thereby.

5. That length of the M74/A74(M) Glasgow - Carlisle Trunk Road being the northbound on slip road at Junction 5 (Raith), a distance of 300 metres or thereby. 6. That length of the M74/A74(M) Glasgow - Carlisle Trunk Road being the northbound off slip road at Junction 5 (Raith), a distance of 270 metres or thereby. 7. That length of the M74/A74(M) Glasgow - Carlisle Trunk Road being the southbound on slip road at Junction 5 (Raith), a distance of 250 metres or thereby. 8. That length of the M74/A74(M) Glasgow - Carlisle Trunk Road being the southbound off slip road at Junction 5 (Raith), a distance of 350 metres or thereby. 9. That length of the M74/A74(M) Glasgow - Carlisle Trunk Road being the southbound off slip road to Hamilton at Junction 6 (Hamilton), a distance of 400 metres or thereby.

10. That length of the M74/A74(M) Glasgow - Carlisle Trunk Road being the southbound on slip road from Hamilton at Junction 6 (Hamilton) including the spur to the northbound M74 carriageway, a total distance of 1.17 kilometres or thereby. 11. That length of the M74/A74(M) Glasgow - Carlisle Trunk Road being the northbound on slip road from Motherwell at Junction 6 (Hamilton) including the spur to the southbound M74 carriageway, a total distance of 1.37 kilometres or thereby.

12. That length of the M74/A74(M) Glasgow - Carlisle Trunk Road being the northbound off slip road to Motherwell at Junction 6 (Hamilton), a distance of 350 metres or thereby.

30mph Speed Restriction 1. That length of the A725/A726 Shawhead - East Kilbride - Phillipshill Roundabout Trunk Road being the northbound carriageway from the point at which the on-slip road from the A724 at Blantyre meets the carriageway to the point at which the off- slip road to the A721 Bellziehill Interchange leaves the carriageway, including the circulatory carriageway at the Raith Interchange Roundabout and Whistleberry Roundabout, a total distance of 4.5 kilometres or thereby.

2. That length of the A725/A726 Shawhead - East Kilbride - Phillipshill Roundabout Trunk Road being the southbound carriageway from the point at which the on-slip road from the A721 at Bellziehill Interchange meets the carriageway to the point at which the off-slip road to the A724, Whistleberry Road, Blantyre leaves the carriageway, including the circulatory carriageway at the Raith Interchange Roundabout and Whistleberry Roundabout, a total distance of 3.5 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the Commonwealth Games Triathlon event which takes place in Strathclyde Country Park and to reduce the disruption to traffic likely to be caused by the event, will be in force from 24th July 2014 until the 27th July 2014, but the restrictions contained in the order will only be operational in relation to such lengths of road when indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. The speed restriction does not apply to vehicles being used in the service of Special Forces.
