THE REGINA COMPANY SEEKS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

 ATLANTA, May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The Regina Company today announced it has begun to explore with a select group of consumer-product companies a strategic partnership to position itself for continued growth.
 The privately held, Atlanta-based company is the fourth largest manufacturer of floor-care products in North America.
 The company is seeking a strategic alliance that may offer enhanced technological resources or access to expanded markets, which would allow the company to continue its aggressive corporate growth strategy.
 "Increasingly, Regina will compete against large multinational companies. We recognize that we too must affiliate with a company that possesses broad technological and marketing resources for us to continue to prosper in this industry," said David Jones, president and chief executive officer of the company. "This exploration is part of a natural transition from investor ownership to strategic partnership," said Jones.
 Regina is a profitable and financially sound company entering its fourth straight year of double-digit growth. The company has more than doubled its size since emerging from a Chapter 11 reorganization in 1989. This turnaround was brought about under the leadership of an experienced management team led by Jones.
