THE PLAYBOY MANSION WILL HOST KABC TALKRADIO'S
19-HOUR AIDS RADIO-THON LIVE ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24

Playboy Founder Hugh Hefner to Guest on "The Michael Jackson Show"
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The famed Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles will be the site for an unprecedented day-long remote radio broadcast on the ABC radio network's owned and operated KABC Talkradio. KABC Talkradio will broadcast "Spotlight on AIDS '92: The Facts, The Fiction, The Future," from 5 a.m. to midnight, Wednesday, June 24.
The event will mark the first time that the Playboy Enterprises Inc. corporate landmark and home to the Hefner family has hosted a full day of topical discussion and fund raising by a radio broadcaster. The Playboy Mansion is an often-requested location for civic and charitable fund-raisers by organizations ranging from the City of Hope to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, classical and symphonic jazz orchestras, Children of the Night and the City of Los Angeles.
According to Hugh M. Hefner, "Playboy identified the AIDS problem and wrote about it well before most mainstream media. Our involvement with KABC Talkradio is a part of our ongoing commitment to spread knowledge and understanding about this most misunderstood affliction."
The radio-thon will feature all of the leading Los Angeles station's popular personalities, including Ken Minyard and Roger Barkley, Michael Jackson, Dr. David Viscott, Steve Edwards, Peter Tilden, Ira Fistell and Ray Briem and will conclude with a special five-hour long (midnight until 5 a.m. from the KABC studios) program hosted by attorney Gloria Allred.
A gala, star-studded benefit luncheon is scheduled for the mansion grounds at noon, at which time Hefner will be the guest for a segment of the popular Michael Jackson Show.
Throughout the broadcast day, volunteers will be staffing telephone banks at the mansion accepting pledge donations for the Los Angeles Alliance for Children and Families with AIDS, AIDS Project Los Angeles and Shared Medical Research Foundation. Phone 310-205-AIDS to pledge a contribution for AIDS or obtain information, counseling and referrals.
Each program will explore the social, psychological, health and economic aspects of AIDS with the assistance of a roster of experts on various aspects of this important subject.
