THE NEW YORK PALACE INTRODUCES RE-POSITIONING WITH THE CORPORATE INITIATIVE FOR BUSINESS TRAVELERS $169 RATE & SPECIAL PROGRAMS

NEW YORK, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The introduction of a revolutionary upscale business traveler program -- The Corporate Initiative -- will distinguish The New York Palace as much for its innovative corporate offerings as its recognition as Manhattan's premier address for accommodations. The program unveils a 42 percent reduction in the executive rate beginning at an introductory price of only $169(A), a new Executive Above & Beyond 24-hour response service, and frequent traveler "branch office" conveniences. The special rate is good through Sept. 12, 1993. A new toll-free number 800-NY-PALACE is another debut toward enhanced hotel accessibility.
The New York Palace management considers the aggressive maneuver into the competitive business traveler environment a complement to the extraordinary experience long equated with the landmark hotel on Madison Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets.
"The Palace is positioning itself as the premier business option in Manhattan," says Greg Ades, general manager. "With the hotel's unparalleled location, extensive amenities -- and now affordability -- executives should consider The Palace their New York office."
With millions of travelers, domestic and international, conducting business in New York City each year, the hotel plans to capture a significant slice of the potential market.
The New York Palace Corporate Initiative program includes the unprecedented $169 rate, an oversized guest room with large desk and refrigerator, computer access port, three telephones per room with two lines each, and a morning newspaper.
Another offering by The Palace is the new Executive Above & Beyond program.
"Our staff is on call 24 hours a day to fulfill any reasonable request," says Keefer Welch, director of marketing. "If a Japanese businessman needs to have a sales document created at 2 a.m. to be faxed to Tokyo before the end of the work day, which is only two hours later, we'll do everything in our power to help the guest accomplish it. The Palace is providing a partnership for business success."
Other amenities available to corporate travelers includes a dedicated Business Center, access to clerical services, fax machines, beepers, computers, cellular phones and multi-linguists; smoke-free floors; exceptional executive conference rooms; 24-hour room service; around the clock pressing; and airport transportation. Complimentary privileges to an exclusive health club nearby with eucalyptus steam rooms, saunas, aerobics, extensive free weights, circuit training and lap pool are also in the corporate program.
By summer, new express check in, check out and executive breakfast will also be instituted.
"The Palace is committed to catering to the business guest," adds Ades. "The hotel is not flooded with demanding conventioneers. Our concentration is on the individual traveler experiencing extraordinary attention to business and personal needs, for an extraordinary price."
The New York Palace features 862 consistently oversized guest rooms and 100 suites including the famous "Palace Towers" the final 15 floors with four Presidential Suites, private tower elevators and reception desk. The hotel is surrounded by Fortune 500 companies and is only blocks from Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Fifth Avenue shopping and Broadway theatre district.
The New York Palace, internationally renowned for its European flair, weds an 1885 Neo-Italian Resaissance palazzo with a mirrored bronze and anodized aluminum 55-story tower. The combination originally opened in 1981 as The Helmsley Palace.
Special appointments include Baccarat crystal, Tiffany windows, dramatic lunette paintings by LaFarge and magnificent marble relief sculptures by St. Gaudens. Dining experiences are also unequaled at the highly acclaimed Le Trianon, Harry's New York Bar, The Gold Room and The Hunt Room and Bar.
The New York Palace is a member of Leading Hotels of the World.
