THE MALAYSIA FUND INC. RIGHTS OFFERING ENDS; $41.3 MILLION FOR THE FUND

 NEW YORK, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Malaysia Fund, Inc. (NYSE: MF) announced today that its Rights Offering, which concluded at 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25, 1993, was fully subscribed. The Offering resulted in approximately $41,258,000 in net proceeds for the Fund.
 The Offering commenced on Oct. 6, at which time Common Stockholders were issued one transferable Right for each share of Common Stock held; three Rights were required to purchase one share of Common Stock at the $17.50 subscription price.
 The Fund is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund's investment objective is long-term capital appreciation through investment primarily in the equity securities of Malaysian companies. Morgan Stanley Asset Management Inc. is the Fund's investment manager and Arab-Malaysian Consultant Sdn. Bhd. is the Malaysian adviser to the Fund. Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated acted as dealer-manager in connection with the Offering.
