THE IMAGE BANK ANNOUNCES FIRST PHOTO CD IMAGE CATALOG
DALLAS, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Image Bank today announced plans

to release the first Photo CD image catalog, a collection of 2,500 images corresponding to the company's Catalog 12. The new Photo CD Catalog 12 will be available Nov. 1 and will include both still photography and illustration.
Users will be able to access images within the catalog by either viewing a page at a time, an image at a time or by conducting a search based on a key word.
"We are eager to pass along to our customers the benefits of new technologies. This is only the beginning," said Rex Jobe, president of The Image Bank.
"By putting our catalog on a Photo CD disc, we're offering graphic designers and art directors an easier way to experiment with various images in different formats and layouts, an important step in the creative process and an essential step in the approval process," said Jobe.
The catalog will offer image resolution comparable to HDTV, a level identified as Base/4 (256x384) which produces high quality soft copy display on a television or computer monitor. It will not offer enough resolution to print to hard copy at finished reproduction quality, thereby protecting image copyrights.
Catalog users will simply contact their local Image Bank office to secure selected images when they wish to view actual slides.
The Image Bank's photo CD catalog will come complete with pre- programmed software, ready to run on a Kodak Photo CD player, Philips CD Interactive player, or a Macintosh or PC with a CD-ROM XA drive, in either Mac or Windows operating systems. The cost for the catalog has not yet been determined.
Anyone interested in being notified of availability of the Catalog 12 Photo CD should contact their local Image Bank office.
The Image Bank, with a global network of image libraries, is the leading supplier of images worldwide -- black-and-white and color photography, film and illustrations -- to advertising agencies, the publishing industry, graphic design studios, film producers, corporations and governments.
