 THE GAS COMPANY AND THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF LOS ANGELES
 TO LAUNCH A NEW PARTNERSHIP
 WHAT: The Gas Company and the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) will launch a new partnership designed to broaden HACLA'S current job training efforts for residents of its public housing developments and inaugurate both HACLA'S and SoCalGas' efforts to support the goals of "Rebuild L.A." Using The Gas Company's job skills training center, 100 public housing residents will be taught the basics of home repair and construction, including window and door replacement and repair, patching holes in interior and exterior walls and installing insulation.
 The first 15 students will begin their classes this week, attending 20 days of classroom instruction, along with 120 days of on-the-job training.
 Since 1983, The Gas Company, in cooperation with a wide variety of community based organizations and other outreach efforts, has provided job skills training for more than 13,000 people. The Company has the capacity to train up to 1,500 students annually. Its partnership with HACLA is the first announced training program under The Gas Company's expanded "Rebuild L.A." job skills training effort.
 WHO: Scheduled participants include: Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, "Rebuild L.A." CO-Chair Bernard Kinsey, Board of Commissioners Chairperson Dori Pye, California Public Utilities Commissioner Patricia Eckert and Gas Company President Warren Mitchell.
