THE wait is almost over. One of the most keenly anticipated films in years finally goes on general release on Friday, November 16, when you can see Edward, Bella and their daughter Renesmee face the vampires of the Volturi in the gripping last installment of the Twilight sensation. This is the story so far... The Twilight Saga began in 2008 and tells of 17-year-old Bella Swan who moves to Forks, Washington, to live with her father and becomes drawn to the mysterious Edward Cullen. Neither can deny their mutual attraction even when Edward confides that he and his family are vampires. To complicate matters, Bella's best friend Jacob Black is a werewolf, designed to kill vampires. The novels and films have become a global phenomenon. The books have each been No.1 bestsellers and the movies have brought in more than PS1.5billion. Producer Wyck Godfrey, who has worked on all the films, says: "The first one is about new love, the second about loss, the third about choice, the fourth about the challenges of marriage and family. And this last film is about protecting that family." THE FINAL CHAPTER OF THE PHENOMENON " The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 sees Bella, Edward and Jacob coming to grips with the reality of Bella becoming a vampire.Author and producer Stephenie Meyer says: "Bella now senses things with amazing clarity. Suddenly, everything physical becomes easy for her almost like a superpower. "Yet she has to balance all that with a vampire's incredible thirst. But she knew it was coming. She is the first vampire in my mythology who chose to be a vegetarian. So she goes into it committed to not killing. She also has the will and preparation to be able to handle herself." On her return to the Cullen house, Bella meets daughter Renesmee for the first time and learns of her special gift and of Jacob's unique bond to her. Danger comes when Renesmee is mistaken for an immortal child, which is forbidden by the Volturi, the largest coven of vampires and their law enforcers. "The Cullens are now in jeopardy again but it's a bigger issue," comments Meyer. "This is a situation where they're going to be annihilated. The Volturi are coming and there's nothing the Cullens can do. They can't run and they can't hide. They've been sentenced to death. "But, hoping for the best, the Cullens assemble their friends to tell the Volturi that Renesmee is not what they think she is. The Cullens hope that if they can slow the Volturi down, they can talk their way out..."
