I have been a comfort eater all my life but this has left me overweight. What can you suggest? Comfort eating usually happens when someone has low coping skills - it's not really about the food.
Label your emotion. If it's boredom then find something to fill your time.
If you are lonely, phone a friend and chat. If you are stressed then book in for a facial or massage.
Food is fuel. True comfort never comes in a wrapper. I would love to lose weight but I just don't have the time to dedicate to it. Would you have any advice? Dedicating just 15 minutes a day to focus on your goals would make such a huge difference.
Get up 15 minutes earlier and have a good breakfast, use 15 minutes of your lunch hour to move more and stay up 15 minutes later to prepare your packed lunch.

It's a great article and makes finding time easy. I don't cook the meals in my family but my husband refuses to weigh food for me. I am eating too much but I don't want to fall out with him.
Why not use smaller plates, so that if he fills it you will still be eating less? You can also leave food on your plate and explain that you are too full to finish it.
Finally, buy portioned food that doesn't have to be weighed, such as cans of soup and bags of rice to boil.
And don't forget to use the right size of glass too, especially with alcohol.
