THE DAY THE MUSIQUE DIED; DERRY PARTY CLUB WINDS DOWN..BUT IS BACK WITH A BANG IN NEW YEAR.

* ark Derry folk, and shed a tear - the sad end of a truly magnificent era is upon us! La Musique, the Maiden City's foremost Saturday night party, is winding down on the weekly gig front, all set to take up a new format in the new year. The passion and brainchild of two DJs, Jean Luc Van Dance and Dollface Devereaux, La Musique has been a spectacular constant of the Derry nightlife for years now always pushing a quality underground electrodisco soundtrack, and unrivalled partytime vibes. You know how nights out in Derry have a fantastic reputation? La Musique is exactly how nights out in Derry have a fantastic reputation. It has been vibes. Y out in tic rep is exac in Der reputa absolutely amazing," Dollface told us this week, "we really couldn't have wished for better parties, guests or punters this past nearly five years! We're ready now to look at doing different things across various venues, bringing the La Musique vibe into diverse environments and hosting special, one-off parties as well. This is only the beginning. Thank goodness for that. It would also be aloof not to comment on the club's unsurpassed artwork over the years, undoubtedly the finest of any nightclub in Norn Iron. Please do make a point of browsing the guys' breathtaking back catalogue of comic-style flyers and posters on their Facebook page. The guys have three parties left in Sandinos, let's make sure and sign off this era in a proper, fitting fashion. Tomorrow night local electro-thunderbomb Screendeath is special guest, alongside Jean Luc and Dollface. Then next Thursday night, Dec 22, the guys host a special DJ set from Derry boys-cum-global superstars Japanese Popstars, along with Figure of 8 also on the bill. And finally, Boxing Night is set to be the last hurrah - with another stonking line-up of Eamon Harkin, Paul P, Jean Luc and Dollface.
