THE CHICAGO STOCK EXCHANGE TRADES 347 CXM CONTRACTS ON OPENING DAY

 CHICAGO, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- After an opening ceremony featuring Scott Williams from the Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Stock Exchange got down to business and traded 347 Chicago Stock Basket contracts, translating to 173,500 shares, on the first day of trading.
 "Today certainly marks another step forward for the Exchange," said Homer J. Livingston, president and CEO of the Chicago Stock Exchange. "We're pleased with the activity of the new basket product and optimistic about its future success."
 The new Chicago Stock Basket is a security representing the 20 stocks constituting the Major Market Index (MMI), a proprietary index of the American Stock Exchange. It is comprised of 25 shares each of the 20 blue chip stocks in the MMI.
 The Chicago Stock Exchange is the second largest exchange in the United States in the dollar value of shares traded. The CHX and its wholly owned subsidiaries provide trade and clearing, and data processing to the international securities and financial service industry.
