THE CHASE MANHATTAN BANK NA SIGNS SYSTEMS INTEGRATION AGREEMENT WITH INTEGRATED SYSTEMS SOLUTIONS CORPORATION

TARRYTOWN, N.Y., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The Chase Manhattan Bank NA and the Integrated Systems Solutions Corporation (ISSC), a wholly owned subsidiary of IBM (NYSE: IBM), expanded their successful partnership today by announcing another multiyear service agreement.
ISSC will consolidate Chase Regional Bank's existing regional computer banking systems throughout New York, Maryland, and Connecticut into a single computing platform that links its 350 branches to one another through a data center in New York. In addition, all Chase Regional Bank branches will adopt IBM's PS/2(A) LAN-based Branch Automation delivery system, and consolidate applications into IBM's Integrated Banking Application (IBA) software.
This systems integrated agreement is in addition to the multiyear agreement between ISSC and Chase Connecticut announced last year.
The single integration banking platform and the standard information delivery system will give Chase's one million Regional Bank customers seamless banking across all of our geographies and offer universal access at any of Chase's 350 regional branches.
Under the agreement ISSC and Chase will share responsibility and jointly manage the project.
"We feel the basis of this agreement leverages the strengths of our two organizations," said Donald L. Boudreau, Chase executive vice president, Regional Banking. "We are not simply outsourcing this critical development activity, but rather we are bringing ISSC's integration skills and an established banking software platform (IBA) together with our banking and implementation abilities."
"Banking has never been more competitive," said ISSC President Dennie M. Welsh, "and we are confident that our partnership with Chase will provide them with the technical solutions required to meet their business objectives."
Chase's core accounting system will be converted over to IBA, IBM's premier banking software for large financial institutions. Conversions of the first portfolio of consumer loans had already been completed prior to the signing of the contract, which demonstrates Chase and IBM's close partnership.
ISSC will supply the hardware and software required for the branch configuration, replacement of current host teller and customer information file capability, conversion of its core accounting software, development capacity, software licenses, as well as post-conversion support. IBA maintenance during the contract and training for the Chase project team will also be supplied by ISSC.
ISSC, headquartered in Tarrytown, is a premier provider of information technology services to more than 2,000 clients in the United States. Founded in 1991, it provides innovative and total enterprise information technology solutions including: systems integration; consulting; business recovery services; general services; voice and data networking; systems operations and application software development.
