THE BOY BOMBER; He threatened massacre at school after being bullied.

A SCHOOLBOY planned to massacre classmates with handguns and homemade bombs after being bullied. The 16-year-old was only caught after he made chilling threats online to storm his school and "shoot until the police arrive" before killing himself.

Yesterday the boy - who was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome after his arrest - was sentenced to a six-month hospital order. He has been in a secure mental health unit since his arrest. Police raided the "quiet and academic" boy's home in Northamptonshire last February after an American online user alerted the FBI to his threatening chatroom rants. Officers found notes detailing his massacre plans, bomb-making books, including The Anarchists Cookbook, and explosive substances sulphur powder and potassium nitrate which he had bought online using his dad's eBay account.

Prosecutor Mark Topping told Birmingham Magistrates' Court: "There were plans of classrooms, desks at which pupils sat and who was to be targeted. He also said people shouldn't have bullied him so much."

Child psychologist Dr John O'Brien said the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had no intention of carrying out his threats. The boy admitted possessing explosive, terrorist materials and possessing images of child sex abuse.
