THE BOMBAY COMPANY ANNOUNCES SALES INCREASE FOR MARCH FORT WORTH, Texas, March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bombay Company, Inc.
(AMEX: BBA), reported today that sales for the five-week period ended March 29, 1992, increased 36 percent to $15,160,000 from $11,112,000 for the same period last year. Same store sales for stores in existence more than one year increased 24 percent.
For the 39-week period ended March 29, 1992, total sales increased 24 percent to $136,063,000 from $109,636,000 while same store sales increased 11 percent. Robert E. M. Nourse, president and chief executive officer, stated that sales were strong throughout the month, although some of the strength was attributable to the previously announced change in the company's February and March marketing calendars.
