THE BIRMINGHAM POST: Death warrant.

Those who make the final recommendation about the best site for the country's first super-casino will have to take Blackpool's submission with a pinch of salt.

The most famous seaside resort in the world is plunging into terminal decline and risks going out of business if it does not get the casino - according to Blackpool Council.

A submission to the Casino Advisory panel talks of accelerating decline, minimal private investment, visitor numbers down and the collapse of the conference trade.

That's not a case for a casino, it's a death warrant.
