Prison bosses have released details of 39 lags, including murderers, who have absconded from Ford Open prison in West Sussex.

Should convicted murderers be allowed to serve their sentences in open prisons?

YES 11%

NO 89%

No. I live five minutes away from Ford Open Prison. When it first opened, we were told it was for minor criminals. It's a joke.

LYNN LEWIS

No. I don't understand why they don't release photos of all prison escapees and make a real effort to find these people.

ALEXANDRA CHRISTINA HUGHES

No. They should never have been in an open prison if they are so dangerous. It's scary for the public.

MARIE BANNISTER

Yes. Prison is supposed to be about rehabilitation and even some murderers can benefit from this.

GEORGE BANKS

No. Our justice system is much too soft. Hardened criminals should never be allowed in open prisons.

TONY CROUCH

It depends on the crime and the circumstances. Not all murderers are a threat to society.

ANGELA CLARKE
