THE BIG ISSUE; Are Liverpool now in pole position to grab a Champions League place?

Byline: SIMON MULLOCK

FOR the second week in succession, Liverpool failed to turn their obvious superiority into goals.

Kenny Dalglish may have taken encouragement from last week's draw with Manchester United, even though he knew his team deserved all three points.

Last night, he must have been in despair as Norwich took a leaf out of United's book by making the Merseysiders pay for their profligacy in front of goal.

Luis Suarez was the chief culprit. The Uruguayan's approach play was sensational again, but he could not find his killer touch.

Twice Liverpool hit the woodwork before Craig Bellamy struck. And they hit the post again before Grant Holt levelled.

These are the games that Liverpool must win if they are to once again join Europe's elite.
