THE BEST WIN YET; Grangetown send rivals packing Netball.
The Teesside team overcame Kent County 57-17 at Grangetown Youth and Community Centre. s
It's the club's first season at this level and they have made a flying start to their campaign, proudly sitting third after nine fixtures.
They started strongly against Kent, opening the scoring inside 30 seconds.
The link-up play between Jill Reah and Ria Small to support the shooters was at times outstanding to watch.
Meanwhile the defence, led by captain and player of the match Vicky Rees, took no prisoners and conceded just four in the first quarter, a first in Premier Two this season.
They also turned the ball over time after time to allow shooters Faye Summerhill and Kate Williams to convert at the other end.
The attack have worked relentlessly in training to add more width to their play which Kent found difficult to counteract.
Five minutes into the third quarter, goal shooter Summerhill went down with an ankle injury and, despite attempting to play on, coach Geraldine Williams made the decision to substitute her for Rachel Dauber.
The sub came on strong in the fourth quarter and scored some impressive goals from range.
The coach was almost forced into making another substitution when Small went down with a foot injury but, after treatment, was able to continue.
Soon after she had to move positions to centre when Reah was substituted with a recurrence of a back injury.
Katie Hockborn moved from the bench to wing attack.
Grangetown's next home game takes place at the Youth and Community Centre on Sunday, December 16 when Worcester Reds will provide the opposition (noon start). Spectators can attend for free.
