5 MILLION SHARE COMMON STOCK OFFERING
NEW YORK, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bank of New York Company, Inc. (NYSE: BK) announced today the filing of a Registration Statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission covering the public offering of 5 million shares of common stock. The proposed offering will be underwritten by Goldman, Sachs & Co., Merrill Lynch & Co., and Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated. The underwriters will be granted an option to purchase up to an additional 750,000 shares to cover over-allotments.
The net proceeds of the offering will be used for general corporate purposes.
