People who live in the home may not have their health and welfare needs met by management and staff who fail to identify and eliminate unnecessary risks where possible. Care plans and associated risk assessments do not contain sufficient detail NAME: Aston Hall Care Home LOCAL AUTHORITY: Flintshire SERVICE: Adult care home PATHWAY TO SERVICE OF CONCERN: Non compliance CONCERNS IN THE REPORT: Improvements needed in relation to staff training in order to fully meet the legal requirements IMPROVEMENTS ARE ALSO NEED IN RELATION TO STAFF SUPERVISION NAME: Eryl Fryn Nursing & Residential Home LOCAL AUTHORITY: Conwy SERVICE: Adult care home with nursing PATHWAY TO SERVICE OF CONCERN: Non compliance CONCERNS IN THE REPORT: The home has not been carried on or managed in a sufficiently skilful manner with which to ensure people's comfort and wellbeing. People using the service were put at significant risk as a consequence of staff and management not meeting their needs appropriately. RESPONSE: A spokesperson said: "Immediate action was taken to address the shortcomings identified within the CSSIW's report following its recent inspection.

"A new manager has been appointed and they have worked closely with our regional management team to improve procedures, the overall standard of care provided, and the physical environment of the home. Staff numbers have been increased and all new and existing staff have undergone rigorous training on new procedures.

"We continue to work closely with the local authority to ensure we are delivering the highest standard of care possible.

"The CSSIW has also been informed of the actions we have taken and we look forward to welcoming inspectors back in the near future."
