THE prime suspect in the WikiLeaks release is a loner and computer geek, raised in Britain, who fooled colleagues into thinking he was listening to Lady Gaga. Pte Bradley Manning, 23, had access to the Secret Internet Protocol Router Network when he worked as an army intelligence analyst in Baghdad in 2007. Manning was born in Crescent, Oklahoma, in 1987 to British mum Susan and dad Brian, a US serviceman. He spent his childhood there until his parents divorced in 2001. Susan moved to Haverfordwest, Pembroke-shire, where he attended Tasker-Milward school and took his GCSEs. Before A levels Manning moved back to Oklahoma. He is alleged to have bragged online: "No one suspected a thing. I listened and lip-synched to Lady Gaga's Telephone while exfil-trating possibly the largest data spillage in American history." He allegedly said he'd found: "incredible, awful things that belonged in the public domain". He is being held in Virginia awaiting trial.
