THE 'BIG ONE' STRIKES SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA IN EDISON'S ANNUAL EMERGENCY DRILL

 WHAT: The earth ruptures and shakes at supersonic speed -- the San Andreas delivers the "Big One" -- a magnitude 8.3 knock-out punch to Southern California. Communications are down, highways are closed and power lines are destroyed. Luckily, it's only an emergency drill played out at Southern California Edison.
 WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 19
 7 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
 WHERE: Southern California Edison
 2244 Walnut Grove Ave.
 Rosemead
 Main entrance on Edison Way -- park in visitor's lot. Check in with security at front desk for guest pass and escort.
 Three simulated "press briefings" will be held during the day. You are invited to ask questions during the briefings along with drill participants acting the part of reporters. The Emergency Operations Center will be fully activated and staffed by Edison personnel.
