THAUVIN MAY BE ON WAY.
FLORIAN Thauvin's agent has flown to England to try and tie up a deal by the end of the weekend for the winger to move to Italian club Lazio.
Marseille and Lazio have emerged as the two clubs with the most serious interest in Thauvin, who was involved on Tuesday at Southend and may yet play against Vitesse Arnhem today - despite the mounting uncertainty over his future.
There are claims in Italy that Fabrizio Ferrari is on Tyneside to try and secure a move to Lazio after agreeing terms with the player. Lazio and Marseille are both offering a one-year loan, worth more than PS1million to United, with a guaranteed purchase at the end worth more than PS9million if he plays a set number of games.
Thauvin's attitude has been better in pre-season that it was last summer, when it was felt that he moved to United somewhat reluctantly. Rafa Benitez had been prepared to integrate him into the group if interest from either Marseille or Lazio didn't materialise.
