THE biggest reunion in pop is upon us as The Spice Girls admit they really, really want to be back together.

Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown will revert to Ginger, Posh, Baby, Sporty and Scary as they announce details of their lucrative comeback tour next week.

The 25 dates around the world will see the girls perform together for the first time since 1998.But there won't be a tour bus in sight as they'll head to each city in separate private jets supplied by record label Virgin.

The reunion has been masterminded by their former Spice Girls manager and pop svengali Simon Fuller.

The shows will include dates in London, Europe, the Far East, America and the Middle East.

They'll net the girls a staggering pounds 11million each for their trouble.

One look at their lives after Spiceworld reveals just why some are keener than others.

Name: Melanie Janine Brown

Born: Leeds

Age: 32

Before she was famous: She studied performing arts at the now famous Intake High School in her home city of Leeds, before going into the entertainment industry.

She started her music career in a band called Touch. The group left the original management team and eventually teamed up with music manager Simon Fuller. Brown saw a newspaper advert for an audition and decided to go along. She was accepted in the all-girl group that became the Spice Girls.

Solo career: Her only solo No1, I Want You Back, was released in 1998 while she was still a Spice Girl but her future singles struggled to make a dent. Her autobiography Catch A Fire was published in 2002. She also tried acting, taking a role in a low-budget short film called Fish and a horror film Lethal Dose, which went straight to DVD in 2004.

She acted in a long run of shows as part of the cast for The Vagina Monologues and appeared as drug addict Mimi in the Broadway production of Rent.

Her 2005 album LA State Of Mind sold just 670 copies and charted at No 453.

Earnings: Scary Spice can't wait for Simon Fuller to hand over her first pay packet. Her company Moneyspider Productions lost pounds 5000 last year and was valued at just pounds 12,000.

Marital status: Divorced

Children: Daughters Phoenix Chi, eight, by Jimmy Gulzar, and Angel baby Iris, allegedly by actor Eddie Murphy.

Solo Career: Her debut solo album, A Girl Like Me, spawned the UK No.1 single What Took You So Long? and Top 5 hits What I Am and Take My Breath Away, but the album sold just 125,000 copies and Emma was dropped by Virgin Records in 2002.

She quickly signed up to Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller's 19 Mgt and penned a new deal with Polydor before releasing another Top 5 hit Free Me.

Her 2006 Children In Need single cover of Petula Clark's Downtown peaked at No.3 and coincided with her appearances on the BBC series Strictly Come Dancing, but the album Life In Mono only made it to No.63 in the charts.

Earnings: Emma's company Monsta Productions took in pounds 139,324 in 2005, and her latest set of accounts are expected to top that thanks to her Strictly Come Dancing appearances. She's worth an estimated pounds 6million.

Marital status: Shares a home with boyfriend, ex-Damage singer, Jade Jones.

Her second single, A Mind Of Its Own, also reached No.6. In 2003, she made a comeback with the double A-side Let Your Head Go/This Groove. In 2004, Victoria designed VB Rocks jeans for Rock and Republic. Last year, she launched her own jeans label, DVB Style.

She has signed a reality TV deal with NBC for six episodes of The Beckhams Are Moving To America which has since been cut back to a two-parter.

Her autobiography Learning To Fly sold more than 500,000 copies in 2001.

Earnings: Her Moody Productions lost pounds 80,000 in 2005, the last available figures. But with husband David's pounds 128million LA Galaxy deal, she's still quids in.

Her first No1 hit as a solo artist post-Spice was her third single, Never Be The Same Again ft Lisa Lopes.

The follow up Northern Star also go to No1.

She has since released four solo albums with sales of three million records worldwide.

As such, Mel was the most reluctant to agree to a reunion.

Either that or she didn't want to go back to wearing shell-suits.

Earnings: Sporty Spice has enjoyed the best career of the bunch and runs her own Red Girl record label. She turned over pounds 600,000 in 2006 due largely to tours and CD sales.

The first two albums made the Top 10 and spawned Top 10 singles, but her last album failed to make the Top 40. She judged Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 but a cameo role in Sex In The City the following year was all she had to show for a temporary relocation to Los Angeles.

She is a goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations.

Earnings: Though she picked up pounds 6.2million in a single year before quitting the group, Ginger Spice paid herself pounds 250,000 last year before winding up her company Wonderful Productions. As a single mum with an expensive lifestyle, Geri was all set to start cutting out coupons. But rumour has it that she'll take home a reduced pay packet as a consequence of quitting the girl group at the height of their fame.

Marital status: Single.

Children: Daughter Bluebell, aged one, from her brief relationship with British scriptwriter Sacha Gervasi.

Lives: London.
