THAT BLOODY WOMAN; Fergie blasts Posh for changing Becks' image.
SIR Alex Ferguson has at last come clean about the real reason he fell out with David Beckham - his wife Victoria.
The United boss claims Becks became a "different person" after marrying the ex-Spice Girl.
He said: "He was blessed with great stamina, the best of all the players I've had here. After training, he'd always be practising.
"But his life changed when he
met his wife. She's in pop and David got another image. He's developed this 'fashion thing'."
In the interview with Sports Illustrated magazine, published in New York, the Manchester Utd boss added: "I saw his transition to a different person.''
Fergie guided Becks through the ranks at Old Trafford but their relationship broke down, culminating in the player's pounds 25m move to Real Madrid this week.
The 61-year-old Scot had become increasingly irritated by Beckham's high-profile celebrity lifestyle.
Last night Becks said there was no ill feeling with Manchester United over the way his multi- million pound move to was handled.
The midfield maestro had earlier told a press confidence in Tokyo that "things went on" he was unhappy with.
But the 28-year-old millionaire later stressed: "I did not mean to give that impression.
"I have publicly expressed my thanks and appreciation for the way the deal has been done."
He also put an end to the rumour that he was heading for a clash with Spanish star Raul over the number 7 shirt. He added: "I'd never dream of taking the shirt of Raul."
He admitted his toughest challenge would be learning a new language, adding: "I haven't started lessons yet, but I know how to ask for the bill!"
Becks will be officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player on July 2.
