THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY PLAN FOR BALTIMORE/WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

BWI AIRPORT, Md., Nov. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The estimated 175,000 passengers expected to use Baltimore/Washington International Airport during the five-day Thanksgiving holiday travel season will find BWI is the "easy come, easy go" airport in the region.
Wednesday, Nov. 24, and Sunday, Nov. 28, will again be the busiest travel days of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Travellers headed for BWI are encouraged to use the airport's extensive ground transportation network as an alternative to driving and parking at BWI.
 GROUND TRANSPORTATION
AMTRAK and MARC Commuter trains are available between the BWI Rail Station, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. throughout the holiday travel period. The BWI Rail Station is conveniently located close to the airport via free shuttle bus service. Shuttle service to the station will be increased to every 10 minutes during the morning and evening rush hours. Holiday schedules vary. Call the BWI Rail Station at 410-672-6167 for more information.
In anticipation of additional travellers from Washington and the surrounding suburbs, BWI is promoting its scheduled bus service from 15th and K streets downtown, and its door-to-door limo service in Prince George's and Montgomery counties. For more information call The Airport Connection II at 301-441-2345.
Transportation between BWI and the Baltimore metropolitan area is available by taxi cab and limousine. In addition, shuttle bus service operates between major downtown Baltimore hotels, Annapolis, Westminster and other points in the metro area to BWI. For information call BWI's Ground Transportation desk at 410-859-7545.
The Light Rail is a new quick way to get from Baltimore to BWI. MTA buses provide service between the airport and four area Light Rail stations: North Linthicum, Linthicum, Nursery Road and Cromwell. For information on MTA services, call 410-539-5000 or 800-543-9809.
 PARKING
For those driving to the airport, BWI has almost 11,000 spaces available. The BWI Parking Garage located directly in front of the terminal is ideal for dropping off and picking up passengers.
For overnight holiday travelers, ESP (Express Service Parking) is the best bet. New to BWI this Thanksgiving holiday, ESP officially opened to passengers this summer. Located adjacent to the BWI Parking Garage and a short distance from the terminal, ESP offers van service from your vehicle door to the airport terminal. Luggage assistance is available upon request.
For the budget-conscious motorist, there's BWI's Satellite parking with more than 5,000 spaces. Airport shuttle bus service to the lot will be increased during peak times in anticipation of the additional travellers expected this holiday.
 PARKING RATES
Garage $1 per half-hour. Maximum $13 per day.
ESP $1 per half-hour. Maximum $10 per day.
Daily $2 each hour. Maximum $8 per day.

Airport visitors are encouraged to park in the garage when picking up passengers. With the additional traffic anticipated, please obey all traffic signals and give due caution to pedestrians.
BWI will have traffic control officers and the Maryland Toll Facilities Police on duty to assist traffic flow and ensure passenger safety and security.
 PASSENGER SERVICES
The newest place to get a quick bite for the passenger on the go is the "B&W Deli," offering soup and deli sandwiches and featuring Vie de France breads and pastries and Pretzel Time Pretzels. The eaterie is located near the entrance to Pier C, behind the Southwest Airlines ticket counter.
Also near Pier C, behind the American Airlines ticket counter, is the newest sensation in airport merchandising, "B&W Marketplace." The multiconcept shop, which opened earlier this year, features several smaller stores in one and is the home of the nationally known "Starbuck's Coffee."
All airport restaurants will be open for Thanksgiving Day. Some gift shops will have limited hours.
Please remember to contact the airlines or your travel agent for last-minute updates and schedule changes.
Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving from BWI Airport.
