THANKSGIVING/HOLIDAY DONATIONS AND VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN THE METRO DETROIT AREA

DETROIT, Nov. 23 ~PRNewswire~ -- The need for donations and volunteers by non-profit organizations is greater than ever during the Thanksgiving and holiday seasons.
Recognizing this need, Allnet Communication Services, Inc. will use the Allnet HelpLink HotLine(R) to connect potential volunteers with non-profit agencies in need of help, said Allnet President John Zrno.
The Allnet HelpLink HotLine is a toll-free number featuring recorded messages from non-profit organizations. During November and December, organizations with special needs for the Thanksgiving and holiday seasons will be highlighted. Volunteers to help distribute food baskets, and donations of children's gifts, clothing and food are in high demand.
"Simply pick up a touch-tone phone and dial 1-800-U-R-VITAL to learn about agencies which need volunteer help or are seeking donations," explained Zrno. "And what better way to get into the holiday spirit than by doing something for those in need."
A caller can choose between 25 different agencies serving the tri- county area, listen to the recorded messages, and leave a message to be followed up on by the agency.
"Hundreds of people in the metro Detroit area have called Allnet HelpLink HotLine to get involved since the program started over a year ago," said Zrno. "With government funding cuts, non-profit organizations are relying more and more on volunteer help and donations to continue providing services. And the need is greater than ever during the holiday season."
Non-profit organizations interested in being highlighted on the Allnet HelpLink HotLine should contact Linda Busse, Allnet Public Relations Department at 313-433-4195.
Allnet Communication Services, Inc., headquartered in Bingham Farms, Mich., is one of the country's largest providers of long-distance telecommunication services.
