TEXTRON NAMES NEW PRESIDENT FOR ENGINE COMPONENTS DIVISION

 PROVIDENCE, R.I., Nov. 19 ~PRNewswire~ -- Daniel L. Shaffer has been appointed president of Textron's Aircraft Engine Components Division, James F. Hardymon, Textron's president and chief executive officer, announced today.
 Shaffer, 56, previously served as senior vice president finance and administration of the Textron Defense Systems Division in Wilmington, Mass. He replaced A. Arthur Weigel, 56, who left the company to pursue other interests.
 Shaffer served in the U.S. Army and received a B.S. degree from the University of Nebraska in 1963. Prior to joining Textron Defense Systems as vice president finance in 1984, he spent a number of years in various management positions with General Electric Company.
 Aircraft Engine Components, based in Newington, Conn., produces gas turbine engine components such as disk, hubs, cases and frames for engine manufacturers and the spares market.
 Textron is a multi-industry company with operations focused in three business sectors: aerospace technology, commercial products and financial services.
