TEXAS INSTRUMENTS SELECTS LUCAS AEROSPACE AS A TEAM MEMBER ON AIWS
 RESTON, Va., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments Defense Systems And Electronics Group, Lewisville, Texas, has selected Lucas Aerospace as a team member for their Advanced Interdiction Weapon System (AIWS) proposal to the U.S. Navy. Lucas Aerospace Power Equipment of Aurora, Ohio, will be designing and developing the entire boattail assembly, including the control actuation system for the program. AIWS is a replacement for Skipper and Paveway precision guided weapon systems for the U.S. Navy. Potential value of the contract is undisclosed.
 Lucas Aerospace Power Equipment designs and manufactures AC electrical power systems, DC generator and starter-generator systems, and electromechanical serve and actuation systems. This business is part of Lucas Aerospace Aircraft Systems Division, which in addition to its weapons capabilities, designs, develops and manufactures equipment and systems for power generation, ice protection, missile casings and actuation, cockpit and cabin windows and cargo handling systems.
 Lucas Aerospace is a leading supplier of aerospace systems and equipment with sales of $1.3 billion and operating facilities across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, as well as associated companies, joint ventures, marketing and customer support facilities around the world.
