 TEXACO INC. ANNOUNCES EARLY REDEMPTION OF 7-3/4 PERCENT
 DEBENTURES DUE 2001
 WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Texaco Inc. (NYSE: TX) has announced that it will call its 7-3/4 percent debentures due June 1, 2001. All $122 million of the aggregate principal amount outstanding will be redeemed on Nov. 9, 1992.
 The debentures are to be redeemed at a redemption price of 101.24 percent of their principal amount, plus accrued interest to the redemption date. Interest will cease to accrue on the debentures on and after the redemption date.
 Interest payable on Nov. 9, 1992, will be paid with the redemption price and will be mailed to holders only upon surrender of their debentures to the office of the paying agent, Chemical Bank, which will notify holders of the call.
