TEWS RETURNS TO SUNBANKS IN ORLANDO

 ORLANDO, Fla., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Long-time Orlando banker, Hans W. Tews is returning to Orlando to resume his responsibilities as executive vice president, SunBanks, Inc. Tews spent 2 years in SunBank/Sarasota as the chairman, president & chief executive officer overseeing the acquisition and consolidation activities which have recently culminated in SunBank/Gulf Coast with $2 billion in assets serving Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties. Tews will be involved in community and public affairs in addition to giving leadership to certain statewide holding company functions.
 John P. Hashagen, senior executive vice president, SunBank of Tampa Bay,


has been appointed to succeed Tews. Jimmy O. Williams, executive vice president, SunBanks, Inc., has been assigned oversight of SunBank/Lee County and SunBank/Naples. The addition of these two banks brings to nine the SunBanks for which he has holding company responsibility.
 In another executive move, career SunBanker Thomas G. Kuntz will relocate from Orlando to Tampa as senior executive vice president, SunBank of Tampa Bay in charge of the community banking network. Kuntz started with SunBank, N.A. in 1978 as a management trainee and has worked his way up through the lending ranks to become senior vice president, Corporate Banking. He is a graduate of Rollins College and The Graduate School of Banking of the South.
 H. Robert Neinken, currently responsible for the National Accounts Division of Corporate Banking, has been named to fill Kuntz's position. As senior vice president, he will oversee the International Banking, Corporate Florida, and Institutional and Governmental areas of Corporate Banking. Neinken is a 10-year SunBanker and a graduate of Florida International University.
 SunBanks has 374 Florida offices and $19.4 billion in assets. SunBanks is part of SunTrust Banks, Inc., a $37.5 billion super regional bank holding company.
