TENTATIVE AGREEMENT REACHED BETWEEN UAW AND GM

DETROIT, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- UAW President Owen Bieber and UAW Vice President Stephen Yokich today announced that a tentative agreement with General Motors (NYSE: GM) was reached early this morning on a new three year labor agreement which achieves the pattern settlement first negotiated at Ford.
"These were unusually complex and difficult negotiations," Bieber and Yokich said. "We commend the National Bargaining Committee, the UAW staff and the UAW GM membership for their skill, their determination and their patience," they added.
Details of the tentative agreement are being withheld pending a meeting of the UAW National General Motors Council.
