TENNIS: WIMBLEDON 2003: Ruthless Clijsters.

NUMBER two seed Kim Clijsters ruthlessly dismissed Paraguayan Rossana Neffa-De Los Rios 6-0 6-0 in double-quick time on Centre Court.

World number nine Daniela Hantuchova brushed off talk of weight problems with a simple two-sets dismissal of Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli and has pledged to better last year's debut performance of reaching the quarter- finals.

"I think I handle all the other stuff about my weight quite well," she said. "For me tennis is the priority and your racket does the talking if you win matches."

Fifth seed Lindsay Davenport is also through to the second round after a 7-6 7-5 win over Australia's Samantha Stosur while Chanda Rubin, seventh seed, breezed past Croatia's Iva Majoli 6-3 6-0.

Britain's Lucy Ahl lost 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 to world No13 Al Sugiyama from Japan.
