 TENNECO NAMES MICHELE MALLOY DIRECTOR, ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS
 HOUSTON, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TGT) announced today that Michele Malloy has been promoted to director, environmental affairs.
 Malloy, who has been a senior corporate attorney at Tenneco since 1988, is now responsible for the company's environmental risk-management program, as well as other environmental matters related to discontinued operations. She replaces Bob Pruessner, who recently retired.
 Malloy, 42, is chairman of the Environmental Committee of the Houston chapter of the American Corporate Counsel Association. She also serves as an adjunct professor of occupational and environmental law at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
 Since joining Tenneco in 1985, Malloy has managed a wide range of legal services, and has developed and participated in a comprehensive program of domestic and international environmental audits. She has also managed hazardous waste sites, and has served as liaison between subsidiaries and corporate management on major environmental matters.
 Before joining Tenneco, Malloy was an attorney at Conoco from 1977 to 1985. She has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center, teaching toxic torts.
 Malloy received her law degree from the University of Houston, her master's degree in educational psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and her undergraduate degree from St. Mary's College at Notre Dame, Ind.
 Tenneco is a Houston-based diversified industrial company with major business interests in natural gas pipelines (Tenneco Gas), farm and construction equipment (Case Corporation), automotive parts (Tenneco Automotive), shipbuilding (Newport News Shipbuilding), packaging (Packaging Corporation of America), and chemicals (Albright & Wilson).
