TELTECH LINKS NATIONS TO ENVIRONMENTAL/ENERGY SOLUTIONS
TELTECH LINKS NATIONS TO ENVIRONMENTAL/ENERGY SOLUTIONS MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Teltech Resource Network has been
awarded a contract to provide an environmental and energy technology access service to nations around the world.
The service, called the Environmental and Energy Efficient Technology Transfer Clearinghouse, is now being developed by Teltech with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Agency for International Development and the World Environment Center. Pilot installations in Mexico in January 1992 and in Budapest, Hungary, a month later will test the system and give countries struggling with the environmental impact of growing industrialization the most up-to-date information available on pollution control, pollution prevention, energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. The Technology Transfer Clearinghouse and results from the pilot test will be introduced at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in June 1992. Industrial and government clients using the Clearinghouse will receive customized, guided assistance accessing Teltech's two key services: an expert network where clients speak directly via telephone with leading technical authorities; and an interactive literature searching service that allows users to research published information worldwide without leaving their desks. Special features of the Technology Transfer Clearinghouse will include: -- Access to individuals from U.S. government agencies, laboratories, universities, research institutions and private organizations who can provide information on pollution control, renewable energy and energy efficient technologies. -- Vendor information (Green Pages) on companies that offer specific pollution control, renewable energy and energy efficient technologies, services and equipment. -- Training opportunities, conferences, seminars and computer-based products. "We've built our company around the delivery of strategic, relevant knowledge, not just information," said Dick Anderson, Teltech president. "We're excited about implementing such an important knowledge-sharing resource on an international scale, and connecting the global community to the best environmental solutions available." Teltech, the leading provider of technical knowledge to U.S. industry, is headquartered in Minneapolis. Among its clients are scientists and engineers at more than half of the Fortune 500 companies. -0- 11/14/91 /CONTACT: Ron Helgeson of Teltech, 612-829-9000 or Jane Ferguson Otis of Rowland Sullivan, 612-222-8716, for Teltech/ CO: Teltech Resource Network ST: Minnesota IN: SU: KH -- MN011 -- 4448 11/14/91 12:50 EST
