TELLUS INDUSTRIES ADDRESSES UNUSUAL ACTIVITY IN ITS STOCK
NEW YORK, July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Commenting on recent unusual activity in TELLUS' OTC traded shares, management stated that, in connection with a formal review of direct marketing practices recently initiated by the U.S. Postal Service -- which TELLUS enthusiastically endorses as a major step in weeding out undesirable elements and practices -- it as well as others engaged in the direct marketing industry have provided pertinent documentation in cooperation and compliance with all requirements.
The direct marketing industry has grown rapidly over the last fifteen years. Industry sales have risen from a start-up to $34 billion during that period. Since acquisition of Tellus' direct marketing subsidiary, PM1, TELLUS has lead the industry in the establishment of rules, regulations and procedures for customer protection and satisfaction. TELLUS has the best customer satisfaction in the industry. Glen Burke, president stated that "Through the efforts of product development and customer service, customer returns of merchandise have dropped to less than 3 percent of sales. The product quality and two day delivery have dropped customer complaints to less than two per $1 million of sales. This compares to the industry average of 15 percent to 20 percent merchandise returns and 20 complaints per million dollars of sales."
TELLUS Industries operates as an integrated marketing and financial consulting company with offices in California, Arizona, Arkansas, Nevada and Illinois. TELLUS' third quarter results which will be released within ten days will reflect the continued trend of 30 percent in quarter to quarter sales increase.
