TELLER HOUSE CASINO ANNOUNCES REDUCTION OF STAFF

DENVER, Nov. 30 ~PRNewswire~ -- "It is with regret that we must announce the lay-off of 40 staff today as a result of the reduction of the tables operation from six blackjack and two poker tables to three blackjack tables," said Teller House Casino General Manger Dale Van Der Schaaf.
Since the opening of The Teller House Casino in October 1991, the tables operations have rarely been viable commercially, primarily due to the $5 maximum bet Van Der Schaaf said.
"The recent 33.3 percent increase in the marginal rate of the Colorado State Gaming Tax has rendered table games uneconomic for the foreseeable future," he added.
The Teller House Casino will continue to operate three blackjack tables as a service to its customers. "The Teller House remains committed to providing an experience of the highest quality for all its patrons," Van Der Schaaf said.
