TELEMATICS INTERNATIONAL CREATES NETWORK SERVICE PROVIDER DIVISION WITH NORTHEAST REGIONAL OFFICE

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., June 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Telematics International Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: TMAX) today announced that it has formed the Network Service Provider division within the sales organization to specifically address the needs of its service provider customer base. Graham Skelton has been appointed vice president, and named to head this sales division, reporting to Armando Cuesta, vice president, Americas Operations. Mr. Skelton was formerly Telematics' director of US Sales.
 Closer To Customers
"The network service provider business accounts for about 65 percent of our revenues," Mr. Skelton says. "The goal of this new division is to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our largest customers, such as AT&T, BT North America, GEIS, GTE and Westinghouse Communications. In addition," he adds, "the division will support new sales activities with U.S. service providers."
Mr. Skelton will run the division from Telematics' headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale, and Mike Poteet, the new Eastern Regional Manager, will open and manage a regional office in New Jersey. Telematics expects the office to be open by July 1.
"We put sales management in the field, and specifically near our large customers," Mr. Skelton says, "to provide ongoing direct support."
 ATM To Be Supplied
Telematics' new ATM based product line, NCX, is being designed primarily for the network service provider market which Telematics estimates will begin offering a full range of ATM-based services within the next 12 months. The NCX product line incorporates Subscriber Oriented(TM) networking which enables the network to know which services individual subscribers need, and be able to provide them without regard for where the subscriber is when the network is accessed.
Telematics designs, manufactures and markets products for voice and data communication applications and networks. It provides a full range of frame relay products under the NFX brand name, including frame relay switches, concentrators and access devices called FRADs. Telematics' NET25(R), SmartNet(R) and Digital Wideband Networks include a complete line of wide area networking products designed specifically for voice and data communications applications and networks. This includes a full range of programmable packet switching systems, frame relay systems, access communications processors and T1/E1 networking multiplexers. Telematics, headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, has approximately 360 employees worldwide with facilities in five U.S. locations, Basingstoke, England, Frankfurt, Germany and Paris.
