TELEKURS ADDS COMPLETE DOW JONES COMPOSITE NEWS TO ITS TICKER SERVICE

NEW YORK, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Telekurs North America, the U.S. subsidiary of the world's leading global securities information company, has announced the addition of the complete Dow Jones Composite News Feed to Telekurs Ticker Service, its digital broadcast of worldwide realtime market data. The Dow Jones Composite News Feed consists of the Dow Jones News Service, the Professional Investor Report, the Capital Markets Report, Federal Filings, the Wall Street Journal, the Dow Jones Economic Report, the World Equities Report, and the International Petroleum Report.
"We are pleased to be able to offer this premier news service in its entirety on our Ticker Service," said Kenneth Marlin, president of Telekurs North America. "Vendors of realtime market data have traditionally been constrained by bandwidth limitations from offering complete news services along with complete pricing information from exchanges worldwide," Marlin continued. "Witness the number of vendors going to 112 or 128 Kb for pricing data alone. On the other hand, Ticker Service's unique and copyrighted compression algorithms, which handle up to 600 messages per second on a single 56 Kb circuit, allow us to offer a full range of securities pricing information from exchanges and contributors around the world as well as the complete Composite News Feed on this same single circuit, without delays, even at periods of intense market activity. This has two benefits for the trading, brokerage, and other securities professionals who require comprehensive up-to-the-second news and worldwide securities pricing information. It makes integrating news and prices into a network easier, thus reducing programming costs and opportunities for errors, and substantially reduces hardware and communications costs."
The Composite News Feed delivered over Ticker is compatible with existing news servers. It is available on the high-speed, 56 Kb Ticker 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Users may request retransmission of any story within a 24-hour period.
Telekurs also offers access to Dow Jones News Retrieval, a 90-day historical database of Dow Jones news, via an X.25 dial-up service. Additionally, Telekurs' InvestData System, which provides online access to Telekurs' database, features a variety of international news services in the language of origin, including Kyodo news, AFP-Extel News, AG fur Wirtschafts Publikationen Zurich (AWP), and Agence France Presse (AFP).
Telekurs is the world's leading supplier to the trading, brokerage, and investment communities of realtime, end-of-day, and close-of-market pricing, as well as corporate announcements, fundamental, and other financial information on publicly traded securities. Telekurs' global databases include coverage of more than 400,000 instruments from more than 60 countries with information from more than 400 exchanges and contributors and 200 other sources.
