TELEDYNE WATER PIK PROVIDES SHOWERS TO MIDWEST FLOOD VICTIMS

ST. LOUIS, July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Teledyne Water Pik will provide free hot showers for thousands of flood victims left without a home in the St. Louis area. The Original Shower Massage(TM) Traveling Showers makes a special detour off its scheduled route this week to provide a greatly needed service.
The Original Shower Massage Traveling Showers, a 14 stall portable shower truck, will be in the St. Louis area Wednesday through Friday, providing shower facilities to the Jamestown American Red Cross shelter, 1809 New Jamestown Road, West Alton, Missouri.
"The flooding here is the worst on record for the area. We've already set up nearly 25 shelters to service more than 20,000 people a day," said Chris Doherty of the St. Louis American Red Cross. "Personal hygiene is a very important part of making the flood victims feel better about their situation, and everyday amenities such as showers are a true commodity under these circumstances. We greatly appreciate this generous donation by Teledyne Water Pik," Doherty continued.
"With the devastating flooding in the Midwest, hundreds of area residents are suddenly finding themselves without the comforts of home, unable to enjoy the everyday things we take for granted such as a hot shower," said Mel Cruger, president of Teledyne Water Pik. "Teledyne Water Pik has a rich history of providing community service, and we think this is a good opportunity in which to match our products and services with those who are most in need."
The Original Shower Massage Traveling Showers contains 14 shower stalls, seven each for men and women, and separate dressing rooms. Each of The Original Shower Massage showerheads within the Traveling Showers facility has a water flow rate of no more than 2.5 gallons per minute, saving substantial potable water when compared to a traditional showerhead that has a water flow rate of 7-10 gallons per minute. The facility has the ability to shower 90 to 100 people per hour.
As part of the 20th Anniversary celebration of the Original Shower Massage showerhead, Teledyne Water Pik introduced the nation's first Original Shower Massage Traveling Showers in April. The Traveling Showers facility is on the road to 16 cities across the nation in conjunction with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's MS 150 Bike Tour series.
The Shower Business Unit of Teledyne Water Pik is a worldwide leader in the development and manufacture of pulsating showerheads. The creator of The Original Shower Massage showerhead by Teledyne Water Pik(R) has a commitment to consumer needs and quality products. The company is headquartered in Fort Collins, Colo.
