TELEDYNE WATER PIK AND NEUTROGENA TEAM UP TO PROVIDE SHOWERS TO MIDWESTERN FLOOD VICTIMS

LOS ANGELES, July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- With massive flooding continuing in the Midwest, thousands of victims are receiving some relief from Teledyne Water Pik and Neutrogena. Beginning today through Sunday, July 18, the Original Shower Massage(TM) Traveling Showers Truck complete with Neutrogena Rainbath Shower Gel will be in Des Moines, Iowa, helping to shower residents, many of whom haven't had water in days.
The state-of-the-art Traveling Showers truck contains 14 shower stalls, seven each for men and women, as well as private dressing rooms. Each stall is stocked with the Rainbath ShowerCare line by Neutrogena. The facility has the ability to shower 90 to 100 people per hour and uses a very low flow rate of no more than 2.5 gallons per minute.
Prior to the flood, the shower truck had been on the road as a sponsor of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's "MS 150" Bike Tour series. During the overnight portion of the 75-mile ride, riders were treated to this portable "spa" experience to soothe tired bodies and aching muscles. However, the truck canceled its scheduled route to Cincinnati this weekend to assist during this time of national crisis. Their first stop to assist during the flood was in St. Louis.
The MS 150 Bike Tour takes place annually in more than 100 markets to raise awareness and funds for treatment of multiple sclerosis, a neurological disease most often striking young adults. More than 2 million people contributed money to the tour in 1992, raising a combined total of $22 million.
After leaving Des Moines, the Traveling Showers truck complete with Neutrogena Rainbath will continue on its tour of cities including: Seattle, July 31-Aug. 1; Milwaukee, Aug. 7-8; Indianapolis, Aug. 21-22; Cleveland, Sept. 11-12; Atlanta, Sept. 18-19; San Francisco, Sept. 25-26; and in Orange County, Calif., Oct. 2-3.
Both Teledyne and Neutrogena have a history of providing community service and saw this an ideal opportunity to provide their products and services to those who are most in need.
