TEKTRONIX NAMES CHIAPPETTA GENERAL OPERATIONS COUNSEL

 WILSONVILLE, Ore., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Tektronix Inc. (NYSE: TEK) today announced Vincent Chiappetta has joined the company as vice president and general operations counsel. Chiappetta was previously associate general counsel with Levi Strauss & Co., San Francisco.
 Chiappetta, 42, reports to John P. Karalis, vice president, corporate development and secretary, and has overall responsibility for the legal affairs of Tektronix and its subsidiary companies. He also manages Tektronix' law department.
 Chiappetta's areas of expertise include international transactions, domestic and international product distribution, intellectual property, corporate finance, securities law and business planning. Prior to Levi Strauss & Co., Chiappetta was a partner with the law firm Meyer, Hendricks, Victor, Osborn & Maledon of Phoenix. From 1987 to 1991 he was associate general counsel for Europe with Apple Computer Inc.

 Chiappetta holds a BSEE from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his J.D. in 1977 from the University of Michigan Law School. He has also served as visiting professor at Arizona State University College of Law and Indiana University School of Law.
 Tektronix is a leading manufacturer of electronics products in the areas of test and measurement, computer graphics and television systems. Revenues in fiscal 1993 were $1.3 billion. Tektronix employed 9,840 people at year end. The company is headquartered in Wilsonville and has operations worldwide.
