TEEN HAZARDS DRAMA IS ON MESSAGE.

BOOZED up yobs have been running riot at a North visitor attraction.

That might have been the story told by many visitors to the Duchess of Northumberland's Alnwick Garden.

But in fact, these were actors from the Gibber Theatre Company, hired to demonstrate to visiting youngsters the down sides of alcohol, drugs and sexting - the sending of sexually explicit text messages and pictures.

Children from Haydon Bridge High School watched the actors in a series of realistic scenarios which showed young people indulging in varying degrees of risky behaviour.

Pupils told afterwards how they feel there is pressure on them to drink, take drugs and sext.

Rebecca Davison, 14, said: "A lot of people do it because their friends do it and it makes them feel older."
