TECOGEN ANNOUNCES THIRD QUARTER RESULTS

 TECOGEN ANNOUNCES THIRD QUARTER RESULTS
 WALTHAM, Mass., July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Tecogen Inc. (AMEX-TGN)

today reported that revenues for the quarter ended June 27, 1992, were $8,229,000, compared with $6,648,000 in 1991. Net income was $83,000, compared with a net loss of $358,000 in 1991.
Marshall J. Armstrong, chairman and chief executive officer of Tecogen, said, "Higher quarterly revenues are primarily the result of increased sales of marine engines built by our Crusader Engine division. Crusader also manufactures TecogenUs cogeneration modules as well as natural gas-powered engines for low-emission vehicles, irrigation systems, and for TecogenUs commercial cooling products.
"We want to remind our shareholders that the Crusader acquisition has been accounted for using a method similar to a pooling of interests. Therefore, our quarterly and nine-month financial results for both the current and year-ago periods have been combined with CrusaderUs results. Before the inclusion of Crusader, Tecogen had reported net income of $87,000, or 1 cent per share, on revenues of $4,305,000, for the third quarter of 1991, and net income of $176,000, or 2 cent-fueled cogeneration and commercial cooling systems and marine engines. The company also conducts research and development on low-emission natural gas engines for vehicles; pump, compressor, and electric generator drives; as well as advanced systems for clean-coal combustion and other high-efficiency gas-fueled devices. Tecogen is a public subsidiary of Thermo Electron Corporation.
