TECO welcomes five new directors.
At the Regions 1. 2 & 3 Meeting in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Jeff Leslie was elected as the TECO director representing Florida, Leslie has served as President and CEO of ITS Telecom and Indiantown Co. (Indiantown, Fla.) since 1996. and. he recently purchased both companies.
At the Regions 4 & 5 Meeting in Cincinnati Ohio. Dick Wirth was elected as the TECO director representing Wisconsin. Wirth has more than 40 years of service in the communications industry mostly with Bell companies. Ho is beginning his second year as a director for the Marquette - Adams Telephone Cooperative (Oxford. Wis.) and enjoys staying involved with telecommunications.
In addition, during the Region 4 breakfast caucus, two long-serving members announced their retirement form the TECO board. For over a decade, Darrell Thomas and Ruby Rimer have served on the board representing Indiana and Ohio, respectively. In addition. both have served on the Executive Committee during their tenures--Thomas as assistant treasurer and vice chair and Rimer as chair. Tim Hills, president of Hancock Telecom (Greenfield. Ind.) was elected as the new representative for Indiana, and Kathy Reinhart . general manager of Bascom Mutual Telephone Co. (Bascom.Ohio) was elected as the new representative for Ohio.
Because the TECO director positions for Arizona, Florida and Wisconsin Were vacant, Meits. Leslie and Wirth will begin their forms immediately. Hills and Reinhart will commence their tenure on the board as of January 1, 2011.
