TEAMWORK IS TREND IN WEDDINGS: WORLD TRADE CENTER BOSTON BRIDAL FAIR TO FEATURE TIPS FOR THE CONTEMPORARY BRIDE

BOSTON, June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Teamwork is becoming more of a trend in weddings and if you are one of the 260,000 couples nationwide in June that are getting married, you may be one of the increasing number of brides who is delegating to the groom, according to experts who will be at the Boston Magazine June Bridal Fair at the World Trade Center Boston June 27.
The Boston Magazine June Bridal Fair will feature more than 40 exhibitors offering hundreds of tips on how to plan the perfect wedding, from advice on what cuisine to serve to selection of music, gowns, transportation and more.
"Although the bride is usually clearly in charge and it is her wedding, we see more and more of the bride delegating to the groom," says World Trade Center Boston wedding consultant Phyllis Block. "Women spend just as much time at work as men do," says Block, "and it's more practical to have both parties participate in the planning and decision- making."
"Occasionally, there is complete role reversal and the groom is put in charge of everything. That usually happens when the bride travels a lot and has a very demanding job and she doesn't have time to arrange the wedding," says Block, who handles more than 100 wedding receptions for the World Trade Center Boston each year. "More and more grooms are taking more responsibility and having a greater say."
Traditionally, more weddings take place in June than in any other month, accounting for almost 11 percent of the total number of couples that walk to the altar each year, according to Brides Magazine. Other popular months are May, September and October.
The wedding market is big business; last year it racked up $32 billion in retail sales.
